Have you ever had one of those friends, that despite where each other is at in life, you know you can always turn to? Or maybe a friend you haven't talked to in what seems like forever, that checks in on you when what she thinks is random, but really is when you needed someone more than ever? That's ALWAYS there when you need someone to talk to, even when you live thousands of miles away? That is THOUGHTFUL, loving, kind, and would seriously do anything for ANYONE? Friends like that are hard to come by.
Meet Brittney Pearlyne Styers Palick.

Britt and I met wayyy back in the day on what I think was NYE 2003 - Long Beach Pyramid YSA dance? We met again a couple years later and decided to hang out. She took me to a "Love You Longtime" concert. She told me it was 80's, I (naturally) wanted to dress up, but decided to tone it back since A.) I didn't know her or anyone else that was gonna be there very well yet, and B.) We were going to hit up the band scene at Velour and I didn't really know how that crowd rolled. I was real glad I scaled it back when she showed up in a cute dress - a Brittney staple - looking 100% cute and 0% 80's. Phew! Oh and I think 98% of the people there were dressed in black so as if our blonde hair didn't already stand out enough, our bright/light colored clothing gave us away :).

But then the next time we hung out we went 80's dancing. She told me she was going to dress "80's Prom" and boy was I excited to do the same. Let's go over the difference between Britt's interpretation of 80's Prom, and Tori's:
Britt = GLAM, Tori = RIDIC (Note the giant bow on my butt and the poofy skirt...you can't see the crimped side-pony, but it's there.)Luckily Britt didn't think I was too much of a weirdo and came to accept me for my over-excited-to-dress-up-ridiculously-tendencies throughout the years...I even got her to dress a little crazy every once in a while! :)
Fast-forward through years of 80's dancing, girl talk, Fro Yo pit stops, hip-hop dancing, next door neighbor-ing, camo dance parties, Fanta girl costume flops, Disco roller skating, playing at the Blue House, Velour band-stalking, random cabin-ing, Karaoke-ing, lurking Vegas streets, piano bar singing, spooning, sleepovers at the Residence Inn SLC compliments of Sky West, flight-attendant line rehearsing, more dancing, horrible (but priceless) blind dating, canoeing, river rafting, Idaho-ing, weekly date nights in SLC, Grey's Anatomy watching, bachelorette-party dancing, bridesmaid-ing, phone talking...and you'll know why she's one of my bestest friends.
So many good times had with Britt 'n Bree...I think this picture describes us to a T:
Tori: dancing like a mad woman, Bree: shakin it like it's nobody's business, Britt: happy as can be.Man I love both these girls! And miss you both like crazy. Britt, happy birthday...I'm sorry I didn't make it as special as you did mine, but know that I love you tons and hope your day was as AMAZING as you are!
XOXO,
Torisaurus
